odyssey

Ὀδύσσεια (Odysseia, “the story of Odysseus”)
A long, eventful journey

An odyssey is a long, eventful journey, after Odysseus' ten-year trip home in Homer's poem.

The story

Homer's Odyssey tells how Odysseus took ten years to get home after the Trojan War: monsters, storms, a cyclops, and a goddess who wouldn't let him leave.

The Texas version

Driving from Texarkana to El Paso is about 800 miles. That's a Texas odyssey.

Use it at work

A big project can feel like an odyssey. Name the milestones so the team knows how far 'home' is.

Practice it in Skepsis
